Make a Difference Through Healthcare Volunteering

Join VolunteerLink Africa’s Healthcare Volunteer Program in Uganda and become part of a dedicated team supporting local healthcare professionals while gaining valuable international experience. This program offers an opportunity to serve communities with limited access to medical resources while making a meaningful contribution to public health.

Whether you are a medical student, nursing student, qualified healthcare professional, or someone planning a future career in healthcare, this program provides practical exposure in a supportive and culturally enriching environment.

Your Role as a Volunteer

Volunteers work alongside experienced local healthcare staff in community clinics, health centres, and hospitals, assisting with a variety of non-specialized healthcare activities based on their qualifications and experience. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting patient registration and reception.
  • Assisting with health education and community awareness.
  • Helping in maternal and child healthcare services.
  • Supporting HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and other disease prevention programs.
  • Assisting with antenatal and postnatal care.
  • Providing basic patient comfort and administrative support.
  • Observing healthcare practices and learning from local professionals.

All clinical activities are supervised by qualified medical personnel, and volunteer responsibilities are matched to individual skills and experience.

  • Medical and nursing students.
  • Qualified doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
